None of this information is allowed to be used in character unless given permission. You are not allowed to suddenly have express knowledge of Denivs’ story or background. You will eventually find it out if you get to know him in character.
This is all a work in progress and the information may be changed repeatedly
Name: Deniv
Age: Pretty old
Gender: Male
Weapon: When Humanish: Longsword When Demon: Lance and Crossbow, both acting as a part of him.
Abilities/Skills: He’s rather diplomatic, although his dislike of (most) humans is apparent. He’s skilled with a sword, but it’s obviously not his weapon of choice. He can teleport short distances, but it isn’t a reliable way for him to travel. He also commands most of the monsters on Eldin Mountain and the surrounding area, even moreso now that he doesn’t have to ‘share’ with Ghirahim.
Personality: He’s kind of a douchebag. He can be pleasant and charming when he needs something from you, but if your use runs out he wants nothing more to do with you. While he was loyal to Demise(and still is really) after his former King was sealed he fell into a long bout of laziness, and also retreating to the mountain to keep some semblance of comfort in his life. Without Demise to essentially keep the Demons from killing each other in petty fights and territory disputes it became heated and Deniv wanted little to do with it. This did not stop him from extending his territory and killing any potential threats however.
Strengths:
- Strength. He’s considerably strong(even moreso in his demon form)
- Speed(Demon form only. He is part horse. He probably can move increasingly fast in true form)
- Competence with a sword, a lance and a bow.
Weaknesses:
- Blind eye— he’s missing an eye, which affects his field of vision obviously. It’s easier for opponents to be in his ‘blind side’, especially when he’s in demon form and there’s more to watch.
- It’s hard for him to change direction when he gets running.
- In Humanish form, he can only use a sword. In Demon form it’s either sword, lance or crossbow. He has to pick one at the beginning of a battle and can’t switch between weapons.
- Energy expenditure. When he’s transforming from humanish form to demon form it costs a great deal of energy, and it usually takes the greater part of the day to shift back to a humanish form, or even more depending on the battle. He only really uses this form to fight against other demons, and will often spend the time after in his manor recuperating and being miserable that he can’t lay down properly.(He’s been spoiled ok)
Which Alignment is your character?: Lawful Evil
Backstory/History: Like many of the demons he had been brought up to the Surface when Demise started the war for the Triforce and Hylia. He was young and ambitious at the time and saw the Surface as an opportunity that he didn’t want to pass up.
Being demons, there were some disputes but Demise never allowed anything to careen into an all out battle between demons. Thus many of the stronger ones flocked to him out of respect and/or fear/or possibly wanting to rule themselves demons are a capricious lot.
During one of, if not the last battle with Hylia’s forces he lost his eye and sustained a great amount of injuries. Enough injuries that he fled to heal, leaving the front lines. While he was tending to his own wounds, Demise was sealed by Hylia. I imagine this news came as a shock, as many Demons(including himself) believed they were winning. After all, they had taken and warped the Goddess’ greatest weapon and were using it against her.
Suddenly without a King, he retreated deeper into the volcano, in no condition to fight any demons that might have found their way up the moutain. He stayed hidden until he was well again and then proceeded to claim and take over the mountain, driving out, killing or taking control any lesser demon that had settled on the mountain. Due to the inherent nature of demons, this led to a lot more dead demons than demons serving him.
Ghirahim making himself known probably gave some semblence of order, although Deniv did not actively help him. In his mind, it was Ghirahims’ job to revive Demise, not his. So he stayed out of the demon lords way, and probably assisted either with monsters or information when the Hero made his way through the Volcano. (I wonder if he was behind starting/initiating the Volcano out of anger, considering how quickly the bokoblins acted to take advantage of it)
Other than any assistance on Eldin Volcano Deniv stayed out of the conflict between Ghirahim and the Hero, a part of him may have assumed that nothing was going to come of Ghirahims’ actions, as nothing had come of it before. When he felt Demise ‘die’(as in, the statue of the Goddess squashing the Imprisoned in the present) there was probably a great deal of shock from him. And maybe even a little disbelief. Once it sunk into some of the demons that there were King was dead it turned into a bit of a drama fest. Lesser demons started enroaching on the territory of the greater ones and it ended badly for them, obviously. He claimed the title of ‘Prince’ around the same time the others took their titles.
At this time, while he was out exterminating intruders he saw a non-red Loftwing land. This was most likely before humans starting coming down en-masse. He watched the human run about before his own forces found him. It was a standing order to eliminate humans, something he hadn’t bothered really changing. He would have left the human to the Bokoblins, but he had no real idea why one that wasn’t ‘the hero’ would dare show up on the mountain. He called off the bokoblins and approached the human, which probably was scary enough as he was in his true form. After some conversation he became interested enough in the young man that he allowed him to live and even brought him to his manor.
Present time, he’s becoming more and more irritated with the humans surrounding his mountain. At first he shrugged it off because there were few, and they gave the actual mountain a wide girth, but as time went they settled closer and began coming up the mountain on patrols. Because of this he in turn sent bokoblins on raids and encouraged the monsters to become hostile to any humans that venture too close.
